My advice would be to try and run two systems in parallel, the notebook and OF. However it has an overhead in learning and maintenance, firstly work out if its actually worth it to you personally, maybe not maybe yes. Personally I have never read GTD but for me OF is the best in class and handles a hell of a lot of stuff for me. It depends really on the OF version you have, the Pro version gives many more options to set custom perspectives to segment your work. As you may know, OmniFocus is primarily aimed at GTD users, so you may want to familiarise yourself with GTD if you’re not already.
